Bussmann Solar PV Fuses Overview
BeiLuo supplies genuine Bussmann photovoltaic fuses, the DC-rated fuses that protect the strings, combiners and inverters of a solar installation. A photovoltaic system produces a DC fault current that a module cannot interrupt, so the fuse must be rated for the DC voltage and the low-overload conditions of a solar array, and it must carry the string current at high ambient temperature without nuisance opening. Bussmann PV fuses are rated to 1000 Vdc and 1500 Vdc, meet the gPV class and UL 2579, and are built in ferrule, NH and XL bodies from 1 A to 630 A, so they cover a residential string and a utility-scale combiner with the same family. The PV-A10 series covers 1 A to 20 A in a 10 by 38 mm ferrule for string protection, while the PV-ANH series carries 32 A to 400 A in an NH1 to NH3 blade body for combiner and inverter protection, with a bolt-on version that integrates into a standardised busbar. A PV fuse must be selected for the array short-circuit current and the ambient temperature, and it is often fitted with a matched holder such as the CHPV finger-safe holder, so the fuse and the holder are chosen as a pair. These parts are used in string inverters, central inverters, combiners and battery storage DC circuits. BeiLuo holds mainstream ratings in stock and ships every fuse with an import declaration, a certificate of origin and a RoHS file; our FAE team helps with the string-current and ambient derating calculation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does a solar fuse have to be DC rated?
A photovoltaic array produces a DC fault current that has no natural zero crossing, so an AC fuse cannot be relied on to clear it. A photovoltaic fuse is tested for the DC voltage and the low-overload, high-ambient conditions of a solar array, which is why it carries the gPV class.
Never substitute an AC branch fuse in a PV string.
How do I size a PV string fuse?
Start from the array short-circuit current, apply the correction factors in the module datasheet and the fuse standards, then confirm the fuse carries the string current at the hot ambient of the site. The fuse must be above the normal current and below the cable and module rating.
Our FAE team can run the derating calculation.
Which fuse and holder go together?
Bussmann publishes a matched holder for each PV fuse family, such as the CHPV finger-safe holder for 10 by 38 mm links and the SD blade blocks for the NH links. Choosing the fuse and the holder as a pair keeps the voltage rating and the touch protection correct.

Can BeiLuo supply fuse and holder together?
Yes. We stock mainstream PV fuse ratings and their matched holders, so a combiner can be built from one authorized channel with coordinated ratings and one import documentation set.
